When might your scene turn into a subculture?

Maybe you’ve been lucky to have been part of great friend group, once.

You all did things together regularly, so much so that others were attracted to the group.

More and more people join.

Until there’s so many people that it’s hard to keep track of everyone. Even after the Google Calendar and Maps shares, etc.

Drama intensifies.

The group splinters. People pick their sides. Dwindle into groups of two and three.

This is an example of scalar stress in our time.

But we’ve been dealing with it for ages.
