What do you pay to assuage uncertainty?

The day before yesterday, I was in the ER as a patient.

I had a small penis problem.

This gave me lots of hours to come up with that joke, and to stare at my vitals.

All paled in comparison to the heart attack I got from looking at the bill.

Ok, that joke only took a few minutes.

I’ll spare you the details.

When I wasn’t the one on the table, I found suspension of belief useful.

Skepticism.

If you’ve ever tried to diagnose a difficult case, you’ll know why it caught on with a physician.
