Yesterday, we talked of the fall of Zhou through King You choosing a commoner concubine over his Queen, Shen, and his crown prince, Yijiu.

Well, Queen Shen’s father killed King You and put his grandson, King You's original heir, in charge.

This was Crown Prince Yijiu, who, as King, moved the Zhou east.

Over the next three hundred years or so, the Eastern Zhou would nominally remain in power.

Turning into figureheads, they would be protected by stronger vassals.

What could go wrong?
