The Society of Stars

Notes on Navigation, from Sea to Space

I remember kayaking out to sea.

Losing sight of the coast always left a sinking feeling in my gut.

Like losing ground beneath your feet.

Your first time underwater, or rappelling.

The Polynesians navigated by memory— turtle-trails and star-stories, wind-shapes and bird-echoes, each swell a whispered map home.

We'll need generations of ritual to read the particle-streams, to feel gravity's ancient pull, and vibrate with radiation’s song.
