It is becoming common knowledge that people put a lot of the weight they would have put on their communities on their significant others.

This collapses things further, since one person can never carry that weight.

Weddings, when done right, bring communities together.

We’re going to need more rituals that mimic the permanence and group effervescence of a wedding- for all our relationships.
