In Dogon myth, the Supreme Being Amma lived Above with the Nommo.

One Nommo stole the sun's fire. Amma raged. The Nommo fell.

Life scattered across the land.

This fallen one became the first blacksmith, master of survival's secrets. The furnaces were women's bodies, the smelter their husband, molten iron their blood.

Curiously, the Dogon spoke of Sirius B before Western eyes found it. They said their first blacksmith came from that star.
