Solve Succession Early

The end in mind that makes the present smooth

When you really need something and don't have as much strength, power, gas, etc- you become obsessed with leverage.

And looking at figures who used leverage in such a way as to be most remembered, one thing sticks out: not all of them solved for succession.

Most dramatically, this happened to Alexander.

At every job I've worked in the last nine years, I'm guided by one question: how do I make myself fully replaceable?

Sometimes this is easy, because I'm very new. Then the question becomes: how do we make lynchpin roles fully replaceable?

This sounds horrible, but this is the question of succession.

People literally die, and groups scramble to fill in the gap, as if it wasn’t predictable.
