Here’s the answer from yesterday’s question.
These three had stable cores, with loose edges. Simple shared rites, local riffs welcomed.
Balanced on the edges, between frontier and civilization.
Not too rigid, or dispersed.
So, more than religious complexity, religious consistency allowed for stability.
Remember, though, our chart- it had one exception off to the right -the Spanish Empire between 1716 and 1814.
