Gods in Stone?
A few years ago, I met someone from Meghalay.
A place with dense forests, high peaks, where animists dwelled until the last century.
His parents, not yet Christian, gathered yearly at ancient stones, making sacrifices to the Earth.
Like the Hittites with their garden sanctuaries: Huwasi stones encircled by plants, blessed by springs— each a god's sacred space.
Even now, you can go to Turkey, and look for a great green stone that the Hittites left.
Which God dwells within it, perhaps time will tell.
