A Tale of Two Acceptances

Where is the line between acceptance and submission?

When discussing acceptance, I can confuse myself.

So let’s talk about two types of acceptance.

Someone grabs your legs, intending harm. You can accept what's happening and go limp like a ragdoll.

Or you can accept what's happening, go limp, and when they transition to mount, slip free while sweeping them beneath you.

This mirrors a tale of Bokuden, challenged by a ruffian.

They rowed to an island to duel. As the ruffian leapt ashore, sword drawn, Bokuden simply pushed the boat away.

"This is my no-sword school," he explained.
